Heechul says farewell to fans and officially departs for the military to fulfill his 2 year services

 Fans across the world has assembled at the residential military camp in Chongnam, Noksan on September 1st at 11AM KST to wish Heechul farewell as he officially enters the military to fulfill his 2 year mandatory services to his country.

It was reported that over 400 fans from Taiwan, Russia, Turkey, Thailand, China, Japan, in addition to Korean fans, and more have bid him a farwell, with some fans bursting into tears at the scene.

Fans created many banners wishing Heechul the best of luck with some saying, “Heechul, I love you” and “I’m looking forward to your return.” ELFs everywhere across the world are also waiting for news on his leave and are also expressing their sadness at Heechul’s military leave. One fan on an international website said, “Return safely and healthy from the military in two years and we’ll see you when you’re done.”

Other fans have said, “Your haircut looks nice. I still can’t believe you’ll be gone,” and “Have good health and take care of yourself.”

Heechul will enter the residential army camp where he will stay for 4 weeks to undergo basic military training. He will then proceed to serve as a public service personnel for 23 months. Heechul will serve as a public service personnel due to the iron rods he acquired in his leg after his car accident in 2006 that required him to have a major surgery done.

Prior to his enlistment, Heechul has been tweeting to his fans photos and thank yous for their endless support. A special duet single featuring Kim Janghoon and Heechul is set to be released sometimes in September as a last special gift to fans from Heechul.

ELF can now look forward to welcoming Super Junior’s Kangin next year as he returns from the military, but will also have to prepare themselves to say goodbye to Super Junior’s Leeteuk as he will soon enlist as well. A date has not been released on when Leeteuk will enlist.

Super Junior will not be accompanying Heechul to his enlistment

SM Entertainment has revealed that the members of Super Junior will not be accompanying fellow member Heechul’s enlistment at the Nonsan training camp on September 1st.

According to SM, the members will say their farewells to him at the dorm before his leave.  Considering that other singers usually accompany their members to the site, this piece of information comes as a surprise to fans.

As it turns out, Heechul specifically made the request himself.  He had told the members, “Don’t come out to greet me goodbye.” Due to his car accident in 2006, Heechul will be serving as a public service personnel instead of an active duty soldier, so he didn’t want his enlistment to be too over the top.

In addition, he’ll be back home after his four weeks of service is up, so he’ll only be away from his members for about a month before he’s allowed to attend his service from home.

Heechul will not be having a press conference at the scene of his enlistment and will be entering as quietly as possible.

Super Junior members’ inestimable love for Heechul

Ever since Super Junior’s Heechul announced his enlisting in Korean army, fans and other SJ members have been very concerned about him.

Super Junior members are known to have brotherly relation among each other and always seen to be supporting each other at every moment. It has been seven years since their debut and members’ relation is very intimate.

After Kangin, Kim Heechul is the second member of SJ to enlist in the army. Enlistment brings great pride, but it also brings 23 months of separation from other SJ members. Their inestimable affection towards Heechul was seen on Inkigayo when all the members burst into tears on Heechul’s speech. These days, they seem very concerned about him and spending as much of their time with him.

Recently, Ryeowook and Siwon have been twitting about Heechul and showing their love for him. Ryeowook, cheering for Heechul’s new haircut, tweeted, “I stayed up to eat dinner with Heechul hyung, head shaved but still looking so Handsome”


Siwon drove all the way to Seoul to meet Heechul tweeted ,“I’m on my way back to Seoul from Gunsan.Ahh!! to be  precise,  I’m on my way to see Kim Heenim….. I am flying to reach there”

Super Junior’s Heechul preps for his entry into the military and reveals his new haircut

Super Junior’s Heechul will finally be entering the military to fulfill his 2 year mandatory services to his country on September 1st. He is the 2nd Super Junior member following Kangin, who is set to return next year, to enter the military. After the news was reported, many fans expressed their sadness as well as farewells to Heechul.

It was revealed by SM Entertainment that “they [Heechul and Leeteuk] wanted to enlist quietly without any commotion.”

Late on Wednesday, August 31st, Heechul tweeted a photo of himself with his new buzz cut ahead of entering the military and said that he reminded himself of the female singer Choonja, who is known for her shaved head.

Earlier that day, Heechul had met with singer Kim Janghoon to record a duet, the final gift for his fans before his enlistment. The duet single is set to be released in September, according to SM Entertainment. Heechul also tweeted the photo of himself and Kim Janghoon sitting side by side with his long hair still intact and obviously prior to getting his new haircut.

Heechul will be enlisted in the army starting September 1st at Chongnam, Noksan and will enter the residential army camp where he will stay for 4 weeks to undergo basic military training. He will then proceed to serve as a public service personnel for 23 months.

Because Heechul wanted to enlist quietly, it isn’t certain at this time whether fans or the media will be allowed to see Heechul off. Usually, celebrities who are sent off to the military for their 2 year duties will hold a photo session, a press conference, and have their fans present at the gate of the training camp.

Super Junior’s Music Video ‘Mr. Simple’ Ranked 3rd on YouTube World Chart! Proved Their Global Popularity!

Super Junior is making headlines by ranking No.3 on YouTube world chart with the music video of their 5th album title song ‘Mr. Simple.’

The music video of ‘Mr. Simple,’ which was released on August 4th through YouTube, ranked third on YouTube ‘Most Viewed Videos’ of this month (July 31st ~ August 30th) after foreign pop stars, Lady Gaga and Kanye West, and proved Super Junior’s global popularity once again.

In addition, the music video of ‘Mr. Simple’ won the first place on ‘Most Discussed Videos’ (July 31st ~ August 30th) and it is in the upper ranks of ‘Most Liked’ and ‘Top Favorited’ charts (July 31st ~ August 30th).

Moreover, Super Junior’s 5th album title song, ‘Mr. Simple,’ took the first place on both daily and weekly chart (August 21st ~ August 27th) of KKBOX Korean Music TOP 100 Chart, which is the largest online music website in Taiwan. Therefore, Super Junior replaced their previous song ‘BONAMANA,’ which was ranked no.1 for sixty-three consecutive weeks, with their new song ‘Mr. Simple’ and proved their explosive popularity in Taiwan.

Super Junior’s Heechul sheds tears two days before enlistment

Super Junior’s Heechul started to shed tears two days before his enlistment.

On the August 30th episode of SBS’s ‘Strong Heart‘, Heechul revealed in a tearful confession, “As the enlistment problem is becoming a reality, all the Super Junior members talked face to face about their futures.”

When Heechul began to cry, Eunhyuk also began to show tears. Eunhyuk stated, “The important thing is that as the members become older, even becoming fathers, we can always share stories together. Even though we smile and chat a lot, there are times when we cry at home. Coming out together is even memorable“.

After the broadcast ended, Eunhyuk could not hold back his tears as it was Heechul’s last broadcast.

Leeteuk reveals that Super Junior was supposed to disband after 3 months

On the August 30th episode of SBS’s ‘Strong Heart‘, Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk revealed the hidden stories behind Super Junior’s debut.

When the younger members of the group, Kyuhyun and Ryeowook, revealed that Leeteuk treated a little less than kindly when they first joined the group, Leeteuk responded to their stories by saying, “If the members were uncomfortable with each other, we wouldn’t be able to talk about these sensitive stories. There is also a reason I was a bit harsh towards Kyuhyun and Ryeowook.”

Leeteuk revealed, “When we first debuted, Super Junior was actually a project group. We were to promote our group for exactly 3 months and then disband. It was a new marketing idea, in which the group would serve as a gateway to rookie debuts, and that the members would continuously rotate out of the group to follow their own paths.”

He continued, “When we debuted in 2005, ‘Super Junior 05′ was written on our album, which meant that we were to promote only during the year 2005. Thinking of how I had spent the last 7 years as a trainee, I performed on every stage as if it were my last.”

But all the hard work the members of Super Junior put into the group finally paid off, and with Kyuhyun joining as the final member, Super Junior was able to become an official group.

Super Junior members expose Leeteuk’s ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ personality

Super Junior’s Leeteuk had his ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ personality exposed by his fellow members on the latest broadcast of SBS’s “Strong Heart“! This episode featured appearances from Leeteuk, Heechul,Siwon, Ryeowook, Yesung, Kyuhyun, Sungmin, Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Shindong.

Donghae began, “As the leader, Leeteuk stepped up and said that he’d directly tell the manager our complaints. However, Heechul went up first and came to tell Leeteuk, ‘It’s your turn next,’ but Leeteuk said that he didn’t know anymore and washed his hands of the issue. He turned Heechul and the other members into the bad guys.”

Shindong continued “At an overseas shooting, Sungmin and Eunhyuk jokingly teased Leeteuk, but after a little while, Leeteuk’s mood suddenly changed and he told them to stop. Leeteuk gave Sungmin, Eunhyuk, and I an evil glare, and then grabbed Eunhyuk’s neck.” Shindong then gestured grabbing a neck, which caused the audience to laugh uproariously.

Leeteuk cheekily responded, “Shindong is too big and Sungmin learned martial arts, so a skinny person like Eunhyuk was the easiest to grab.”

Other double personality stories about Leeteuk were also told by Siwon, Yesung, Eunhyuk, and Heechul.

Super Junior Donghae revealed ‘I was attacked before debut, but no help from Leeteuk’

On August, 23th, SBS ‘Strong Heart’, Donghae revealed that before Super Junior debut, he was attacked.

Donghae said, “Before we debut as Super Junior, we almost debut as Smile. At that time, there’re me and Leeteuk in this group.” and “We went to see a soccer match at the restaurant because of 2002 World Cup. Korea won at that time. I was so happy, so cheering very loud, and then 2 men nearby looked to and shout at us ‘Hey! both of you come here!’ “

Donghae said, “I was just a teenager that time, and tell them angrily ‘What?’. two men came to me as the same size as Kang Hodong, and another one was as the same size as Eunhyuk.” He added, “After I said ‘What?’, there was some fight. I was attacked by many, so I was injured.”

He revealed that “I had no scare, but I think it’s not good for me because I had the schedule on the next day (shooting for Jacket album of Smile)” He added that “I watched K-1 fighting competition with Leeteuk before this happened, so I asked him ‘Hyung! If this thing happened to me, will you protect me?’, then Leeteuk said, ‘You are my brother, I’ll protect you by myself!’ ” He continued, “But that time, I was attacked strongly, and could see some blood. I think my face is important, and I should protect it, so I only protect my face. While I saw Leeteuk fight with a man who’s like ancovy, I called him to help me. He replied that ‘Wait! I’ll fight this man off.’ I had been attacked for 15 minutes, and then 3 men left “

“Leeteuk came to see me and asked if I were ok, but there’s too much of my blood at that time. He said, ‘Actually, I should protect you’ ” He added, “When we back dorm, my face swelled so much. So, Yesung took an egg to soothe my face. Leeteuk shout ‘I’m so sorry, I can’t protect you!’ “

For Yesung who heard all of this, he throw an egg to Donghae’s bed and said ‘Donghae ~ I’m also sorry that I can’t help you’, he said angrily. After that, Leeteuk and Yesung said they couldn’t let it go like this. They suddenly went outside. Donghae thought they might go to revenge for him.

2 hours later, Leeteuk back to dorm again. The manager asked him ‘Where did you go?’ He replied that “Sa-u..Sa-u (Sa-u means fight)” He said like that, and then suddenly said “Sauna” made the audiences laughed.

Leeteuk said, “We actually went out with no plan, but in fact, we couldn’t do anything” He added, “Since we shout loudly before went out, it’s cool, so we couldn’t back again doing nothing. We had to find something to do before”, he said humorously.

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun reveals stories of his hardships during his early debut days

On the August 30th episode of SBS’s ‘Strong Heart‘, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun shared stories from his early days as a member of Super Junior.

Kyuhyun began, “I wasn’t a trainee for very long. I had trained for about 2 months when I became a member of Super Junior.”

He explained that when he joined the group, Super Junior was a rookie group who had debuted only 6 months ago, and already had 12 members. It was hard enough to receive adequate screen time when there were 12 members, so Kyuhyun had feared that the members would dislike him for joining the group.

He continued, “On my second day at the agency, I ran into the Super Junior members, who were said to be so busy that people were seldom able to catch a glimpse of them. I was so nervous that I just slightly nodded my head and said ‘Hello’, but Leeteuk-hyung coldly replied, ‘Excuse me, but that’s not how you greet someone’. Of course at the time I had made a mistake, but the members seemed to dislike me from the beginning.”

Kyuhyun shocked the cast members when he added, “When I joined Super Junior and moved into the dorm, all the members each had their own bed except for me. They told me just to sleep anywhere, so I ended up sleeping in a sleeping bag next to Yesung’s bed for a month, between Donghae andSungmin’s beds for a month, and so on for about 9 months.”

Kyuhyun also shared a story of how Leeteuk had told him to cook some ramen for the members, but since he had to prepare enough ramen for 13 people, he accidentally used too much water. Seeing this, Leeteuk had angrily scolded Kyuhyun while throwing his chopsticks aside.

Ryeowook later recalled an episode involving Kyuhyun and said, “We have a rule saying that you cannot be drunk inside the dorm, but one day Kyuhyun consumed an entire bottle of soju before returning back home. He then came to lie down on my bed and said, ‘Ryeowook, I’m so tired,’ while shedding tears.”

He continued, “I was also going through a tough time, so I asked him, ‘Why? Because of who? I think I’ll be able to understand you,’ to which Kyuhyun replied, ‘Leeteuk-hyung…’, and then drifted off to sleep.”

However, despite the obstacles he had to face in his earlier Super Junior days, Kyuhyun expressed the high level of respect and love he now holds for his group’s leader. When Super Junior won their first award, all the members shed tears of joy, but Kyuhyun forced himself to hold back his tears, thinking that he had no right to cry for this achievement.

He stated, “The members continued to cry once we returned to the waiting room, and I truly wanted to cry along with them.” But once Leeteuk looked up to see Kyuhyun standing awkwardly amongst the other members, he came over to give him a warm embrace and said, “You worked hard too, Kyuhyun“.

With these words, all the tears Kyuhyun had been holding back came rushing out, and all the wounds from Leeteuk’s cold scoldings in the past were washed away. He added that after this experience, he felt like he had finally been accepted as a member of Super Junior.

Leeteuk responded to these stories by saying, “It’s because we have a strong foundation of faith and trust in each other that we are able to share stories like these. I think that’s how comfortable we feel around each other now“, impressing viewers with his wise words.

Eunhyuk, The last show before Kim Heechul enlists, ends up showing tears.

 Eunhyuk showed his affection towards Super Junior members.

On SBS ‘Strong Heart’ which aired on 30th, Eunhyuk and Super Junior members came as guests, and showed their pride of the group and ended up showing tears.

Eunhyuk said, “Our time to enlist is coming. We talk a lot as a group but how our group began is different. 1,2 members debuted first and then it ended up with 13. Even when we won first place on music shows, because we were the beginning we had pride.

Continuing, he said, “More importantly, even when the members become old and becomes dads, we say that we should always stay as brothers and stay togehter. There were times when we would laugh and talk, but when I go home I would cry. It is really meaningful for us to be on one show together.”

Near the end of the show, Eunhyuk ended up showing tears. He was crying because he was sad that it was the last show together before Kim Heechul went to the army.

Kyuhyun, “It was hard because of Leeteuk.”

Group Super Junior’s youngest, Kyuhyun started Leeteuk.

Kyuhyun revealed on SBS ‘Strong Heart’ that it was hard for him to get used to the group when he joined the group late.

He continued, “Especially, Leeteuk hyung made it hard for me many times. The first time I met Leeteuk hyung, I didn’t please him somehow and was scolded by him”

Yesung “There were times when I stayed away from my strict father..”

Super Junior’s Yesung showed tears as he thought of his father.

On the episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ which aired on the 30th, he said, “I didn’t really like my father.” revealing his past when he wasn’t intimate with his father.

Yesung said, “He was very strict, and there was a time when I wondered if I even liked my father. In real, Choi Minsoo sunbaenim’s image is very similar with my father’s, so I dind’t even watch ‘Sand Watch’.”

He also said, “My father was very against it when I came to Seoul to persue my dream as a singer.” He revealed the past when he wasn’t very close with his father due to lack of communication. During this process, he could not control his emotions and showed tears.

One day, when Yesung debuted as Super Junior for three years, there were 50 missed calls from his mother on his cell phone. His father needed transfusion due to an accident, and Yesung went to Chunan, where his parents were, in middle of a recording. While going to Chunan, Yesung had many thoughts.

Yesung said, “When I arrived at Chunan, I heard what happened. What happened was, my father’s fingers were caught in a machine. It was too late at night, so nobody could hear his cry for help. He had to stay with his fingers in the machine for an hour. My heart hurt when I saw my father there.”

Afterwards, Yesung promised to himself that he would make time to get closer with his parents.

Yesung’s parents weren’t very healthy to gain jobs, so even if it was a burden, he made them move to Seoul. He even opened up a coffe shop where his parents and his younger brother could work together.

Because the accident was big, Yesung’s father’s fingers aren’t healed completely. These days, Yesung talks with his father and the two are like brothers. “I didn’t know when I was young, but I learned that my father was very innocent and has a lot of aegyo. I am very happy.”

‘Strong Heart’ Sungmin, “It’s harder for me to get close with men than women.”

Super Junior’s member Sungmin has unique relationships with women.

On the episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ which aired on 30th, Sungmin confessed that it was harder for him to get close with men than women.

On this day, Sungmin said, “I really wanted to get to know Choi Soojong sunbaenim, whom I have worked with. We just call sometimes.” revealing his admiration for Choi Soojong.

To this, Super Junior members revealed the difference of involvement of him with women and men. “When he is with women, he is very different then when he is with men.”

Eunhyuk gave an example of Sungmin’s double life. “When he talks with a woman on the phone, he says with aegyo, ‘Noona, buy me a meal’. But when he is talking with a man he would say with a stiff voice, ‘Hyung, I don’t feel like eating.’”.

Also, Leeteuk revealed, “Sungmin was in a musical with Ok Joohyun, and he was massaging her shoulders.”

Also, Sungmin did a skit with Choi Minsoo and Lim Soohyang, showing that Sungmin was more friendly with Lim Soohyang, whereas he was very formal and stiff with Choi Minsoo, proving the memerbs’ stories.

To this, Lim Soohyang commented, “Men like Sungmin are the dangerous ones. Women can’t refuse those that come to them as a older sister.”

On this day, Kyuhyun also revealed his sorrow as the team’s maknae.

‘Strong Heart’ Donghae, “Leeteuk said that he was going to fight, but went to the sauna instead.”

Super Junior’s member Donghae revealed a lot about the team’s leader, Leeteuk.

On the episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ which aired on 30th, Donghae revealed the time Leeteuk was involved with a violence incidnet during 2002 World Cup.

On this day, Donghae said, “Back then, we were in a group called ‘Smile’. During the 2002 World Cup, we were very happy of the victory and were screaming, but suddenly some men started to pick a fight with us.”

Donghae fought back and said, “What are you?” and then ended up fighting with the men. Donghae was extremely physically assaulted.

Donghae also revealed, “Meanwhile Leeteuk hyung grabbed a man of Eunhyuk’s size by the collar.” creating laughter in the studio.

Afterwards, Leeteuk was angry after seeing that Donghae was badly assaulted, and said, “I will fight them, and come back.” with much confidence, and left the dorm. After a long time, when Leeteuk came back, the manager asked where he went and Leeteuk said that he came back from the sauna.

Super Junior to continue activities with 8 members

Super Junior will continue to promote their music as an 8-membered group.

Following fellow member Kang In, Super Junior’s Kim Heechul has decided to enlist into the Korean military. He will be leaving for basic training at a camp in Choonam Nonsan for four weeks, starting on September 1st. Afterwards, he will embark on his official military duties for 23 months.

Super Junior put on their last “Mr. Simple” performance with Heechul on SBS’s ’Inkigayo‘, and they took home the ‘Mutizen’ award for that week. Afterwards, Heechul shared a profound tweet with his fans, saying, “To my friend JungSoo (Leeteuk’s birth name) and to all of my Super Junior members, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m sure all our fans know I’m not good at expressing my feelings, so I’ll leave you with that. I’ll be back– take care of yourselves!”
